Prairie Death Care Collective

I am happy to be a cofounder and member of The Prairie Death Care Collective (PDCC). PDCC is a collaborative peer support group of death and grief workers in eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa

Rooted in care and integrity, the collective works to expand death literacy and reshape how our community understands, approaches, and honors death.

PDCC is open to any active (or aspiring) death or grief worker in the area. Our collective consists of death doulas, therapists, hospice workers, funeral industry workers, and more. Our goal is to support one another as a peer group so that we can better support the community.

Established in January of 2026, we are still a young, grassroots organization with over 50 members. We have membership meetings every other month, and host collaborative, community-facing events a few times a year. We also encourage peer learning through member-run workshops and events.

Annual events:

Grief in Public Day - April

PDCC Art Show - December
