A Death Café is a welcoming space where people come together to share thoughts, stories, and questions about mortality in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. There is no agenda or set outcome, just an honest conversation.

Death Cafés are not grief support groups or counseling sessions. They are community conversations meant to break the taboo around death and help us reflect more deeply on life. Bring your curiosity and your stories. Free refreshments provided.

This is a free event for Adults only. Registration is required and opens August 1.

The 2026 Omaha Reads selection, "Remarkably Bright Creatures," tells the story of Tova, a widow whose son disappeared 30 years ago, and her connection to a giant Pacific octopus who lives at the aquarium where she works.
